Three prestigious awards won by Kazakhstani schoolchildren in the USA

Three prestigious awards were won by Kazakh schoolchildren at the World Robotics Championship in the USA, reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Education.

The FIRST World Championship was held in the American city of Houston, where Kazakh schoolchildren won three nominations at once.

The Adeptus Mechanicus team from Almaty received a special Core Values Award for high enthusiasm, spirit of cooperation and mutual respect in the youngest age category from 6 to 10 years old. It consisted of elementary school students. Their project has become one of the best among all the presented innovative projects and technical developments.

The Play 4 Energy team from LEAS won the high technical Robot Design Award in the 10 to 16 year old middle age category. They have demonstrated excellent programming and engineering skills, creating a highly durable and efficient robot with the ability to perform complex tasks.

The high judging award Motivate Award Finalist in the senior age category from 12 to 18 years old was awarded to the AENTA team from the Physics-Mathematics State School of Almaty. As the members of the international jury noted, the team showed high professionalism on the world stage. It should be noted that schoolchildren hold free of charge festivals and training, where they teach their peers robotics and programming basics.

“The guys showed excellent results and represented our country with dignity. We are grateful to everyone who is involved in the victory of our students! This is the beginning of a long and fruitful path in the development of STEM in Kazakhstan,” said Nurdaulet Dosmagambet, co-founder of the USTEM Robotics public foundation.

"It was not an easy race among participants from 110 countries. We are proud that our children showed the highest professionalism and received their well-deserved awards. We believe that their vivid example will motivate all schoolchildren in the country," said Aigul Karakulova, the head of the pedagogical excellence laboratory of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre "Daryn".

It is also noted that the national team was formed at the FIRST Central Asia Games in February this year. In total, 36 thousand children took part in the world championship in robotics. About 50 Kazakh schoolchildren defended the honour of the Kazakhstan Republic.
