Kazakhstan national robotics team triumphed at the closed championship “Türkiye FIRST Tech Challenge”. More than 30 Turkish teams and two teams from Kazakhstan, Rebels and Queue, took part in the competition. Students of 9, 10 and 11 grades from Zhanaozen and Almaty were invited to participate.
Students not only won the robot game, but also got high judges’ awards.
Queue team is from Almaty. Students of 10–11 grades - Damir Alibaev, Erasyl Mels, Manas Erkenuly, Spandiyar Tuyakbai, Alikhan Daulet, Gizat Turegaliev, Bakdaulet Asyl, Habib Atig Ur Rakhman and Aldiyar Iskhanov - won the Connect Award for engaging the local community to STEM.
Rebels team is from Zhanaozen. Students of 9-11 grades - Sultan Bimagambet, Beksultan Oglanbek, Adilet Baiguben, Izbazar Balgambarov, Batyrzhan Orynbayev, Aibek Nuraly, Bek Erlepes, Daniyar Iskakov and Madi Zhandosov - won the Design Award for clever design and functionality of the robot.
Zhonder Suleymenova, Rebels team trainer, said “Kazakhstan National team got an exclusive invitation from Turkey. It is unforgettable emotions when your students win far away from the motherland. Now we are going to prepare hard for the Central Asia round that will take place in Astana”.
Kazakh schoolchildren received a ticket to the championship in Turkey at the republican tournament Almaty Tech Cup in December last year, which was organised by the USTEM Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Akimat of the city of Almaty.
